Corpus Christi Grade School is a somewhat good school. The grades Pre-School-2 are good for young children. The kids seem to learn alot and they're taught good morals and how to be a good Catholic. It's always cute to see them interact in their classes and the christmas show is adorable to watch. The teachers are good with the kids and genuinly care about them. The Middle School transition grades 3-4 are firm for kids preparing to enter the middle school level. This is often the grades that most kids seem to have trouble in but it's all a part of the preparation. For the most part, the kids end up successful. As for the Middle School 5-8 section, I cannot say the same. 5th grade seems fine among the kids. They're all still friendly toward each other and they're still learning quite well. In 6th grade, it starts going downhill. The teachers are still good at their job and they treat the kids well. The problem is the kids themselves. The kids start breaking off into cliques. The once tight-knit class is now seperated from popular to losers. The popular kids are usually the rich kids attending who seem to have lost all of the good morals and values. It seems to me that the school should start checking the students for drugs cause one of the kids found a way to hide pot in the locker. As middle schoolers the kids are babied. I've discovered that once I got into high school, I learned more in 3 months there than I did in 1 year at CCS. Once again, this is caused by the kids. Since the school is not big enough to have a seperate Honors and Regular class, some of the accelerated kids have to suffer through weeks of learning the same stuff over again, while the other kids couldn't understand the work. This isn't very fair to the kids who are smart enough to move on to more advanced things and as a result, they suffer. The cliques cause suffering among the so-called "losers". While cliques exsist at any middle school, I'm surprised that they would exsist at a school that insists to teach Christianity. The main problem is that while the teachers teach, they should probably pay more attention to what the kids are doing behind their backs.
